Youth Empowerment

"My father joined the army at a very young age—not because it was his dream, but because he didn’t have any other options. He lacked the basic skills to start a business or even apply for a job. The army became his only way out. I often wonder—what if he had been given the right skills and support? What if someone had shown him another path? Sadly, he never got that chance."

This program exists to ensure that young, unskilled individuals do get that chance. We are committed to giving them hope, opportunity, and the tools they need to build a better future. Through a structured and practical approach, we help young people become self-reliant business owners or productive members of society, starting with what they have and where they are.

We do this through a simple 5-step model, known as OBILF, which introduces youth to sustainable agricultural practices while also equipping them with vital life and business skills.

The five steps are:

  • Onboarding & Life Skills Training (Rehabilitation):
We begin by helping youth reset their mindset and build essential life skills such as discipline, communication, goal-setting, and resilience. For some, this includes rehabilitation from past challenges or vulnerable situations.
  • Business Skills Training:
Next, we equip them with the practical knowledge to run and manage a small business—covering planning, budgeting, marketing, customer service, and record keeping.
  • Innovation & Idea Development:
Youth are encouraged to explore their own ideas, think creatively, and find smart, sustainable solutions within agriculture and beyond. This stage sparks innovation and builds confidence in their own abilities.
  • Loan Support:
We provide access to small loans—not in cash, but through necessary farming inputs such as seeds, tools, and fertilizers. This ensures they can start productive activities immediately without financial strain.
  • Follow-up, Mentorship & Improvement:
Long after the training ends, we continue to walk with them. Regular follow-ups, coaching, and mentorship ensure they keep growing, adapting, and succeeding in their chosen paths.
