Introduction & Background
In Uganda, youths in ghetto are generally treated as dangerous citizens and are seen as threats to society. Yet, about 65.71% of the population are youths (Population census 2024). Youths play a vital role in Uganda's rural agricultural sector and contribute a higher-than-average share of crop labor in the country in terms of labor extension. They also make up more than half of Uganda's agricultural workforce. A higher proportion of youths with majority being casual laborers work in farming-76 percent versus 62 percent. Yet compared to men, their productivity is low. The government of Uganda acknowledges that youths (especially those living in rural and Ghetto areas who head households) are the poor of the poorest hence leading to insecurity due to stress for survival. Although the government of Uganda has tried to come up with initiatives to mention YLP, EMYOGA, PDM, many of these youths are left out due to lack of skills and known settlement for them to be able to engage in these programs therefore continued poverty.

Our Goals
- Establish a Fully Equipped Demonstration Farm: Set up a 500-acre model farm dedicated to practical, hands-on training in maize and dairy farming, equipping local farmers with modern agricultural skills and technologies.
- Introduce Mechanization and Value Addition: Deploy tractors and install maize value addition units, including poultry and animal feed production lines, to ensure a reliable supply of quality inputs. This will enhance productivity and profitability, particularly benefiting women farmers.
