CARE International in Uganda has an amazing one-year opportunity for a passionate, highly motivated recent university graduate to work as a Graduate Trainee under the Climate Justice Program. As a Graduate Trainee, you will be able to develop practical skills by working alongside CARE International employees. As this is a learning opportunity, CARE will contribute a monthly stipend, including medical insurance for the contract period. The Graduate Trainee will undergo coaching and mentoring and be equipped with skills for market readiness and improving their employability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a personal learning and development plan.
  • Initiate regular coaching and mentorship to address learning needs.
  • Support mobilization of project participants for training, dialogues, and advocacy activities.
  • Raise awareness in the community about sustainable natural resource management, gender mainstreaming and disability inclusion.
  • Work closely with the local refugee leadership and other community structures to identify support gaps and suggestions for inclusion in programming. 
  • Work with supervisor to develop concepts and reports. 
  • Work with new gender models, e.g., Women lead in Emergency (WLiE) and Role Model men. 
  • Identify and implement one project idea for personal learning and development. 
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Women and Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, and Environment Management, attained in the last three years.  
  • Dynamic personality, good speaking and writing skills, gender awareness and multicultural sensitivity, and flexibility to support various teams. 
  •  Must be a recent graduate below 30 years, who graduated over the past 1-3 years from a reputable university.
  •  Post-graduates below 30 years will also be considered.

  • Support the design of high-quality communication materials and publications such as newsletters, posters, and infographics.
  • Support for taking photos and maintaining a database of video and Photo content.
  • Support teams in storytelling and content creation across different programme areas.
  • Prepare media clippings on issues related to CARE’s programme areas documented/filed and channelled to the relevant programme area.
  • Identify and implement one project idea for personal learning and development.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, and related programs, attained in the last five years.  
  • Excellent storyteller and dynamic personality, excellent writing skills, photography and social media skills, fast learner and passionate about communication, gender awareness and multicultural sensitivity, flexibility to support various teams.

  • Review payment requests and ensure they are well supported according to CARE policies.
  • Initiate payments for beneficiaries through the mobile money payment platform.
  • Initiate payments in the online bank platform and support document upload on TEAMS.
  • Carry out the bank and other relevant reconciliation.
  • Identify and document one innovative project to improve CARE internal systems.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors in Accounting, Commerce or any related field attained in the past three years.

  • In collaboration with the Grants Coordinators, track expenditure against budgets and deliverables against agreements/ contracts. 
  • Ensure compliance with Uganda Revenue Authority regulations, Donor regulations and award requirements. 
  • Develop one project around an area of interest in grants management and compliance. 
  • Perform any other duties as may be directed by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in finance/ accounting/ commerce attained in the last three years.
  • Intermediate/ advanced knowledge of MS Excel, good knowledge of Uganda regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements, 
  • Ability to communicate with a high level of cross-cultural sensitivity, good analytical and decision-making skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail, high drive to learn, ability to demonstrate professionalism and flexibility.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology or any related field attained in the past three years.

CARE International in Uganda has an amazing one-year opportunity for a passionate, highly motivated recent university graduate to work as a Graduate Trainee in Human Resource Management. As a Graduate Trainee, you will be able to develop practical skills by working alongside CARE International employees. As this is a learning opportunity, CARE will contribute a monthly stipend, including medical insurance for the contract period. The Graduate Trainee will undergo coaching and mentoring and be equipped with skills for market readiness and improving their employability. 

Therefore, CARE International in Uganda seeks to recruit a highly motivated and qualified professional to fill the above position:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a personal learning and development plan.
  • Initiate regular coaching and mentorship to address learning needs.
  • Conduct validation, installation, updates, and upgrades of ICT equipment and software as advised.
  • Update ICT inventory for all CARE International in Uganda locations.
  • Compile weekly IT reports as requested.
  • Be the first line of support for day-to-day ICT user support requests for the Country office while managing the ICT helpdesk.
  • Run software updates on user computers, and assist in local area network (LAN) management and troubleshooting.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance (servicing) on all desktops, laptops and printers across all office locations.
  • Identify and document one project to improve CARE IT Infrastructure and Connectivity.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Computer science or any related field attained in the last three years. CompTIA A+, N+, and MCSE certifications are an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting local area networks (LANs), proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, good communication skills, fast learner and passion for ICT, gender awareness and multicultural sensitivity and flexibility to support various teams. 
  • Must be a recent graduate below 30 years, who graduated over the past 1-3 years from a reputable university.
  • Post-graduates below 30 years will also be considered.

  • With support from the livelihood staff, maintain an updated list of all groups supported under the livelihood project/ program, disaggregated by sex.
  • Participate in collecting lessons learned, best practices, case studies and support knowledge management. 
  • Capture issues arising from dialogue with communities and beneficiaries, specifically issues affecting women and girls. 
  • Support livelihood team to map out and profile all key potential input dealers and traders (private sector) in the region.
  • Provide support to the Livelihood team in preparing for workshops and training.
  • Compile reports for the livelihood program team for use during reporting, donor visits or decision-making on interventions.
  • Support interventions that prevent gender-based violence and protect persons affected by the crisis.
  • Support the MEAL coordinators in gathering data using the field monitoring tools.
  • Identify and document a project to improve CARE project implementation. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Economics, social sciences, Development studies or related field attained in the last five years. 
  • Learning Agility, passion for community empowerment, passion for gender equality and women and girls’ rights, good problem-solving skills, critical thinking, ability to put communities and beneficiaries first, team player, good communication skills, multicultural awareness and sensitivity.
